1st Verse:

All form a circle and move clockwise and counterclockwise, 16 steps in each direction.
B1
1st and 3rd couples move to the center, separate, and pass between the 2nd and 4th couples with their contraries. They separate from the contrary and return to their original place by moving around the outside of the set.
B2
Same as B1, but now the 2nd and 4th couples perform the figure while the 1st and 3rd couples wait.
2nd Verse:
A1
The 1st and 3rd couples turn toward the couple on their right, while the 2nd and 4th couples turn toward the couple on their left: give right hand to the corner couple and change, give the left hand to own partner, and the gentleman turns his lady back in the original direction. Repeat in reverse: give the right hand to the corner couple and the left to own partner, and the gentleman turns his lady.
A2
Same as A1, but now the 1st and 3rd couples turn left first, and the 2nd and 4th couples turn right.
B1
The 1st and 3rd couples perform a poussette: partners hold both hands, the gentleman advances while the lady backs, then the lady advances while the gentleman backs. They separate from their partners, cross over each other with the gentleman moving to his right and the lady to her left, passing between the 2nd and 4th couples to the other lead couple's position (ladies always have the right of way).
B2
Same as B1, but now the 2nd and 4th couples perform the figure while the 1st and 3rd couples wait.
At the end of the second verse, everyone is in the "wrong" or contrary places.
3rd Verse:
A1
With their own partner, perform a balancé right and left, followed by a pas de rigaudon (right foot). Then, with the corner partner, perform an allemande with any two-hand hold, making a complete turn clockwise in place.
A2
With the corner partner, perform a balancé right and left, followed by a pas de rigaudon (right foot). Then, with their own partner, perform an allemande with any hand hold, making a complete turn clockwise.
B1
The 1st and 3rd couples cross the set, give right hands with their opposite partners, and change. The gentleman turns his lady back in the original direction. With the corner partner, perform an allemande with any two-hand hold, making a complete turn clockwise in place.
B2
Same as B1, but now the 2nd and 4th couples perform the figure while the 1st and 3rd couples wait.
At the end of the dance, everyone is back in their original positions.
